As Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping financial insight, challenging assumptions, and supporting strategic decision‑making.

You’ll assist with budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across our multi‑channel retail business, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across our various sales channels and cost centres.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations (minimum 40% of working week) and remotely within the UK.

You’ll help us by

  • Support the annual budget process and in‑year reforecast cycles across sales channels and overhead departments.
  • Build robust, driver‑based forecast models that reflect the performance dynamics, ensuring that all budgets and forecasts align with business strategy, financial targets, and trading expectations.
  • Consolidating business inputs into a coherent financial plan, providing clear variance analysis and insight.
  • Owning the delivery of monthly management accounts for sales channels and key overhead departments.
  • Producing insightful reporting packs including P&L analysis, KPI trends, variance explanations, and channel performance drivers.
  • Providing commentary for Board/Exec reporting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and commercial relevance.
  • Coordinating with Financial Accounting to ensure journals, accruals, and provisions are accurate and timely.
  • Tracking performance against budget, reforecast and prior year, clearly articulating underlying trends and highlighting risks, opportunities and actions for the upcoming months.
  • Acting as the primary finance partner to channel leads e. g. stores, online, partners, wholesale.
  • Supporting functional heads e. g. Marketing, Property, Retail Operations with financial insight, cost control, and investment appraisal.
  • Challenging and influencing commercial decisions with data‑driven analysis and recommendations.
  • Translating financial performance into clear, actionable insights for non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Leading monthly channel and departmental performance reviews, identifying risks, opportunities, and required actions.
  • Working collaboratively with the finance team to ensure accurate reporting, alignment on key metrics and supporting the development of financial processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
