About the Role
As a Junior Support Technician Apprentice, you will respond to queries, log and manage support tickets, and help resolve non‑complex technical issues while gaining hands‑on experience working on a busy service desk. You’ll also support wider IT operations, from maintaining documentation and assisting with system checks to working with third‑party providers to resolve issues.
Responsibilities
- Respond to queries from colleagues and log them into the IT Service Management tool.
- Ensure tickets in the system are responded to in a timely fashion and maintain the mailbox.
- Organise New Starter/Change/Leavers requests and ensure correct assignment.
- Assist in the IT Lab, building and decommissioning hardware and asset management.
- Perform routine checks on interfaces, backups and systems.
- Handle tickets ranging from password resets to investigating network problems.
- Update documentation as requested.
- Communicate with third parties to log issues and ensure timely follow‑up.
Qualifications & Skills
- Three A levels or equivalent.
- Three GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A‑C) in any subject.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above).
- No existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.
- Problem‑solving and multitasking skills.
- General interest in IT and a willingness to learn current technology.

Apprenticeship Details
This is a full‑time, two‑year temporary contract based in Cornwall. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement with alternating weeks between office and remote; Wednesday is a designated in‑office day. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will work towards a Level 3 Junior Support Technician standard over the course of the apprenticeship.
