At Seasalt, creativity is in our DNA. We began in 1981 in a small shop in Penzance, crafting workwear for local mariners and artists. Today, we’re a modern lifestyle brand with over 80 shops across the UK, Ireland and North America, 400+ wholesale stockists, and a growing global presence. We may have grown, but we’ve always stayed true to our roots with Cornwall’s artistic influence and maritime heritage woven into every garment. As a certified B Corp and winner of Drapers “Best Place to Work” in 2024, we’re proud to balance our culture with long term growth. It's an exciting time to join us as we build on our distinct creative handwriting, brand differentiation, and expanding both internationally and in the UK.

Our Senior Photographer brings our products to life through standout location photography, with the occasional studio shoot. You’ll be responsible for capturing beautiful, high‑quality ecommerce imagery that reflects our brand vision, stays ahead of current trends, and truly connects with our customers. With a sharp eye for detail and a genuine passion for fashion ecommerce photography, you’ll thrive in a fast‑paced environment where creativity and consistency matter equally. Confident and driven, you’ll remain calm under pressure, lead by example, and approach every shoot with a positive, proactive mindset—always pushing for the best possible image.

This is a part-time, temporary contract to cover family leave, due to last approximately 12 months. This role requires to be based in Cornwall, primarily based in our Cornwall Head Office.

Responsibilities:

  • Shooting aspirational, on‑brand imagery on location, utilising surroundings and providing clear, concise model direction to ensure poses, mood and overall feel align with the style guide and brief.
  • Experience working with a variety of lighting techniques on location and in the studio, creating inspirational mood boards, staying up to date with industry trends, and applying innovative approaches to keep imagery on‑trend.
  • Communicating clearly with studio teams and collaborating cross‑departmentally to ensure efficient workflow, smooth‑running shoots, deadlines are met, daily targets achieved, and online imagery remains accurate and up to date.
  • Assisting with photography incidentals and still life imagery for catalogues, collaborating with the stylist to creatively use space, style and product while ensuring the brief is met.
  • Preparing for shoots by reviewing locations with the production team, gathering references, planning lighting setups, and sourcing equipment for prop rigs.
  • Maintaining, setting up and packing down all equipment for studio and location shoots, ensuring batteries and spares are charged, equipment is well maintained, and studio spaces are kept organised and stored correctly.
  • Ensuring every shoot is fully backed up at the end of each session.
  • Colour grading using Capture One during and post‑shoot, working closely with the Director of Creative to translate the desired seasonal look and ensure consistency across shoots and multiple days.
  • Working alongside in‑house retouchers, applying a consistent grade and look and feel to finished imagery and completing a clear handover after each shoot.
  • Ensuring products are shot and styled in accordance with the style guide, accurately representing colour, fit, shape, drape, detail and USPs, with consistency across all formats and media.
  • Confident use of Capture One, shooting tethered to laptop, desktop and/or iPad, with strong technical knowledge of studio flash photography and Canon camera systems, and the ability to translate this effectively on set.
