Seasalt began in 1981 with a small shop in Penzance, selling workwear to local mariners and practical overalls to artists. Today, we’ve grown into a thriving omnichannel retailer with over 80 UK and Ireland stores, 400+ wholesale stockists, and a growing international and online footprint.
As an Assistant Channel Merchandiser, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our stores, online, partners and clearance channels have the right stock at the right time and are being traded in the most profitable way. You’ll be the key contact with the Logistics team to support managing the stock through the Distribution Centre (DC) into these channels.
Requirements:
- Ensuring timely and effective distribution of stock to maximise channel and product performance, recommending changes to allocation plans where required and being the key contact for allocation, replenishment and stock queries.
- Providing short to medium term forecasts to the DC, ensuring resource and workload planning aligns with merchandising forecasts for managed channels.
- Updating short-term dispatch forecasts into the channel WSSIs to align all views, highlighting risks and opportunities to the Channel Merchandise Manager, and supporting them with return-to-business process.
- Reviewing product performance to support weekly Channel Merchandising trading activities, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Driving the development and production of reporting and ad hoc analysis to support Allocation trading decisions.
- Supporting the Allocators in creating initial allocation plans for each launch and guiding them in replenishing sales, ensuring the stock is balanced to the demand in each channel or store.
- Maintaining accurate store space records that reflect new stores and changes to the existing space in the business.
- Creating and maintaining sales and profit density reporting to analyse product performance based on space used and recommending where to expand or contract product ranges to improve sales density.
- Ensuring allocation trackers are kept up to date, enabling the wider business to have visibility of the status of the assortment at any point in time and communicating required delivery information to external partners.
- Managing stock allocation to Clearance channels in line with sales and stock plans, including oversight of eBay, Outlet promotions, and ad-hoc Clearance.
- Reviewing aged stock reports, forecast tools, and line-level pricing to propose markdowns and actions that drive sales, clear stock profitably, and meet margin targets.
- Line managing two Allocators, developing and upskilling through process, structure and environment whilst demonstrating best practice both technically and behaviourally in equal measure.
