As a Merchandise Operations Manager, you’ll provide day-to-day support for merchandising tools while also driving their continuous improvement. As the key contact for Data & Analytics in the day-to-day management of data provision, you’ll produce regular reporting and continual improvement initiatives. You’ll be the link between the business and external systems suppliers and represent merchandising in key business projects.
Please note that this is a full-time, permanent role which is available remotely across the UK with occasional travel to our Head Office locations in Cornwall. If you are a Cornwall based candidate, this role will be based at Head Office with a hybrid working approach.
You’ll help us by:
- Supporting the Merchandising Excel/Access database and online planning/trading systems (and any new merchandising systems) on a day-to-day basis as well as working on continuous improvement.
- Supporting the development of new merchandising tools and systems, including the Request for Process and specifications process.
- Being the link between the business and external systems suppliers.
- Acting as a liaison between merchandising and Data & Analytics to facilitate effective communication and collaboration on ad hoc and continuous improvement activities.
- Responsible for merchandising regular reporting.
- Translating merchandising needs into clear requirements.
- Coordinating with the Commercial Analyst, to ensure that regular reporting is evolved in line with the Director of Merchandising & Chief Trading Officer requirements.
- Responsible for the training and development on tools and systems for the wider Merchandising team.
- Providing continual development, positive and energised leadership and encourage others to do so, giving recognition and praise when appropriate.
The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:
- Merchandising background, either within channel, planning or product merchandising.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience of using Merchandising tools and understanding Merchandising data, operations and requirements
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior management.
- Able to operate with autonomy and manage own time and priorities.
- Strong organisation and planning skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good problem solving and analysis skills.
- Credible and able to create clarity.
- Ability to perform under pressure and operate in a fast past environment and to deadlines.
- An analytical degree/qualification is advantageous but not essential.
