This is a client-side role, managing contractors and delivering a diverse portfolio of civil and infrastructure works across a live operational estate. One week you may be overseeing a pavement repair or drainage scheme. The next, you could be involved in elements of a £50m container terminal upgrade, heavy-duty quayside infrastructure, conveyor installations or marine structures. If you enjoy project variety, autonomy and complex infrastructure environments, this role offers exposure to projects of all sizes within a strategically important UK logistics hub.
The Job Role & Responsibilities
- You will support the delivery of multiple concurrent civil and infrastructure projects across the estate, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
- Managing projects from concept through to completion.
- Preparing technical specifications and tender documentation.
- Procuring and managing framework contractors.
- Monitoring project budgets, valuations and variations.
- Coordinating internal operational stakeholders.
- Ensuring CDM 2015 compliance and reviewing Construction Phase Plans.
- Inspecting works on site and maintaining project documentation.
- Supporting design modifications using AutoCAD.
- Balancing reactive works alongside planned capital schemes.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects within an operational environment: Ports / marine infrastructure, Airports or logistics hubs, Local authority capital works, Highways infrastructure, Utilities infrastructure, Rail infrastructure, Industrial estates or operational facilities.
Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience managing contractors rather than direct labour.
- Exposure to procurement, tendering and contract administration.
- Budget and programme management experience.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience.
