This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Civil Engineer to accelerate your career within a complex, operational port environment. You’ll deliver diverse infrastructure projects including quayside structures, pavements, drainage systems and utilities. From day one, you’ll manage real projects with responsibility for budgets, programmes and contractor coordination, supported by an experienced Engineering leadership team.
As a Civil Engineer, you will support and lead the delivery of civil and building infrastructure projects from concept through to completion, ensuring safe, compliant and cost-effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Support the full project lifecycle: design, procurement, construction and handover
- Prepare technical specifications, tender documentation and cost estimates
- Manage contractors on site, ensuring works meet quality, programme and budget requirements
- Monitor project costs, valuations and variations
- Attend and contribute to stakeholder and progress meetings
- Oversee compliance with Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015 duties
- Review Construction Phase Plans and Health & Safety documentation
- Inspect works and ensure accurate record-keeping, including as-built information
- Produce and modify technical drawings using AutoCAD
- Manage multiple concurrent infrastructure projects within a live operational environment
We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Civil Engineer with experience delivering civil or infrastructure projects in the UK.
- Experience in civil engineering or infrastructure project delivery
- Knowledge of UK construction methods and site practices
- Understanding of Health & Safety legislation, including CDM 2015
- Experience liaising with contractors, consultants and stakeholders
- Ability to manage budgets, programmes and competing priorities
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or HNC/HND with relevant experience)
