We’re recruiting a Purchasing Manager to join a global manufacturer specialising in network infrastructure and fibre connectivity, supporting telecoms, electronics and industrial markets. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring cost‑effective sourcing, supplier performance and material availability across a dynamic manufacturing operation.

You’ll play a central part in:

  • Maintaining efficient, cost‑competitive supply chains
  • Supporting production through strong materials planning and availability
  • Driving improvements in stock control, supplier performance and cost efficiency

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and manage suppliers across UK, Europe and global markets
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and long‑term supplier agreements
  • Monitor and improve supplier performance (cost, quality, OTIF)
  • Drive cost reduction and inventory optimisation initiatives
  • Support budgeting and purchasing strategy
  • Analyse spend, materials usage and make‑vs‑buy decisions
  • Ensure compliance with procurement, quality and operational standards
  • Lead and develop a small purchasing/logistics team (2 members)

About You

  • Proven experience in Purchasing / Procurement / Supply Chain
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering, telecoms or technology environments
  • Experience with Sage is Essential
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation ability
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with day‑to‑day operational delivery
  • Confident managing suppliers across international markets

A basic salary of up to £55,000, 28 days holiday, 08:00 to 16:45 Monday to Tuesday, Friday 8am - 12.30pm. Based onsite, Northampton.
