We are working with a specialist engineering company near Maldon who are looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to support the equipment within their clean room facility. This role is based within a clean room / controlled engineering environment, supporting precision equipment rather than maintaining large factory production lines. You will be responsible for ensuring machinery and technical equipment within the facility is maintained, serviced, repaired and ready for use by the engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance on clean room equipment and machinery
- Preparing and setting up equipment for product changeovers
- Fault finding and repairing mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment
- Supporting engineers with equipment reliability and technical issues
- Assisting with the installation and setup of new machinery
- Carrying out equipment modifications and improvements where required
- Maintaining technical documentation and maintenance records
- Supporting electrical safety testing (PAT) where required
- Ensuring equipment meets safety and operational standards
Key Skills & Experience
- NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline
- Hands-on mechanical or electro-mechanical maintenance experience
- Practical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience maintaining equipment or machinery
- Experience working within a clean room or controlled environment – not essential
- Experience within precision manufacturing, electronics, laboratory or similar technical environments – not essential
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience
