This role could suit someone from estimating, sales administration, internal sales, CAD, fabrication, sheet metal or a hands‑on engineering background who is used to producing quotations and dealing with customers.
We’re recruiting on behalf of a well‑established manufacturing business that designs and manufactures bespoke steel products for customers across the UK.
You’ll become the link between customers and production.
You’ll speak with customers about their requirements, prepare quotations and produce simple Auto CAD drawings using an existing library of designs.
You don’t need to be an Auto CAD expert.
If you’ve had some previous exposure to CAD and are happy learning, full training will be provided.
The Role
- Preparing customer quotations for bespoke manufactured products.
- Speaking with customers to understand their requirements.
- Creating and amending simple Auto CAD drawings using an existing drawing library.
- Liaising with production to ensure customer requirements can be achieved.
- Providing technical advice throughout the quotation process.
- Processing customer enquiries from initial enquiry through to order.
- Ensuring accurate information is passed to the production team.

You’ll ideally have
- Experience preparing customer quotations, pricing work or responding to customer enquiries within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Some experience using Auto CAD or reading engineering drawings.
- An understanding of manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or sheet metal.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence speaking with customers and understanding their requirements.
