How to prepare for a job interview at Searley Owen

Know Your AutoCAD Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on your AutoCAD skills before the interview. Be prepared to discuss specific projects where you've used AutoCAD to produce technical drawings, and maybe even bring a portfolio of your work to showcase your expertise.

Understand the Estimation Process

Familiarise yourself with the estimation process in a manufacturing or engineering context. Be ready to explain how you approach preparing quotations and estimates from customer enquiries, and share examples of how you've successfully managed this in previous roles.

Communicate Like a Pro

Since you'll be liaising with customers and various teams, practice articulating your thoughts clearly. Think about how you would explain complex technical information to someone without a technical background, as this will demonstrate your ability to bridge the gap between customers and production.

Showcase Your Project Management Skills

Prepare to discuss how you manage multiple projects and enquiries simultaneously. Highlight any tools or methods you use to stay organised and ensure smooth project delivery, as this will show that you're capable of handling the demands of the role.
