We’re on the lookout for a technically minded, motivated, and creative Business Development Manager to join our growing team. We are a national, employee-owned business operating in the roofing sector. Over time, we’ve evolved to offer our commercial clients a range of green energy solutions, including green roofing and solar PV systems. This role sits within our Solar division. You will manage your own sales pipeline and calendar, covering Essex and Hertfordshire. This is a hybrid position that includes client site visits, remote working, and occasional team meetings—so being based anywhere in Essex or Hertfordshire is ideal.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • With guidance and support, design and execute a robust business development strategy
  • Proactively identify, approach, and secure new commercial clients
  • Manage the entire sales pipeline—from initial enquiry to deal closure
  • Conduct technical site surveys and assessments
  • Design and present bespoke Solar PV solutions
  • Manage inbound leads while actively generating your own business opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Attend industry exhibitions, tradeshows, and networking events
  • Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and innovations

The ideal candidate is an experienced business development professional from the renewable, green energy, or solar sector. However, we’re also open to dedicated and driven sales consultants from other technical fields. Most importantly, you’ll need an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for building lasting customer relationships. You are approachable, self-sufficient, and resilient.
