Searles Leisure Resort is a long-established, family-run holiday resort located on the beautiful Norfolk coastline in Hunstanton. For over 70 years, Searles has been one of the region’s most trusted destinations for UK seaside breaks, built around a simple motto: “creating happiness for all ages.” As part of the wider Searles Leisure Group, an independent family business operating for more than 83 years, the resort is known for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and strong community values. 42.5 hours per week (yearly average) & Permanent Contract.

Job Purpose: The postholder will assist with the smooth and efficient running of the Maintenance department, supporting the Company in creating a five-star, well-maintained and safe environment for our customers. You will be working as part of a small team to maintain the holiday park facilities, caravans, lodges, Hotel and grounds. You will have a good knowledge of construction and general maintenance as well as repair services. With the role being potentially customer facing, you will have good communication skills and a passion for delivering excellent customer service. You will be working as part of the Maintenance team ensuring that the procedures are carried out before, during and at the end of shifts, whilst managing health and safety within the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out general maintenance and planned preventative maintenance tasks as requested by the maintenance manager/supervisor or administrator, keeping detailed and up to date maintenance records.
  • Complete repairs and install replacement parts; reporting any changes required.
  • Maintain building accessibility and appearance, including removing ice and snow from walkways and parking areas, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Complete special requests such as moving files and boxes, moving furniture, preparing rooms for meetings and completing repairs and installing replacement parts.
  • Maintain internal and external buildings, equipment and fixtures etc.
  • Carrying out and completing tasks to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Maintain on-site workshop and all tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Maintenance Manager and complete tasks as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Report defects (equipment, building, lighting and fabric) to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • To perform any other related activity, as directed by the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor, necessary to fulfil the purpose of the role as described above.
  • Carrying out project works, such as hire fleet refurbishment and department upgrades.
  • Maintain sewage drainage system.
  • Ensure that the operating procedures are carried out as scheduled and records kept.
  • Carry out essential maintenance work, equipment checks, including daily and routine maintenance and ensure safe operation of machinery, and vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
  • Adhere to company and department policies and procedures.
  • Be prepared to undertake all tasks required to ensure the consistent and efficient running of the business.
  • Liaise and cooperate with your colleagues in all departments, maintain effective and friendly working relationships.
  • Be aware of the effects of your work on the customers around you (e.g., disruption, noise, inconvenience).
  • Comply to all regulations and policies such as Data Protection Act, Health & Safety and Safeguarding, ensure a safe working environment for all staff members.
  • To complete any training courses and in-house training as required and participate in team meetings. Liaise with other departments daily as required.
  • To act as an ambassador for the business and ensure that the Company is promoted externally on all occasions.
  • Support the company’s mission and objectives through compliance to Policies and Procedures.
  • To perform any other duties as required.

Education, Training & Experience:

  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential due to the use of Company Vehicles.
  • Maintenance experience of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and property maintenance.
  • Experience of HVAC systems, Waste Management, Electrical and Gas Safe Registered (Desirable).
  • Manual Handling skills.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Plant machinery experience (Desirable).
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to act as the public face of the business.
  • Computer literate.
