Searcys have an incredible new venue opening in one of London’s most iconic, historical spaces this year and are looking for a dynamic Sous Chef to join our new team.
As part of this opening, you will get a chance to collaborate and cook alongside the World Famous Michelin starred Chef Giorgio Locatelli, who will lead the opening and work closely with the kitchen brigade to create his famous dishes.
Working as a Sous Chef for this opening will require you to be an ambassador for the Searcys and Locatelli brand and deliver food that creates lasting memories. You will not only support the Exec/Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the restaurant but also act as a mentor to the junior kitchen brigade.

As a Sous Chef at The National Gallery, you will be required to be passionate about fresh ingredients and have knowledge of Italian cuisine. You will be supporting the Executive and Head Chef to manage the day-to-day service while leading and mentoring the junior team to deliver high-end quality food.
Working 5 days over 7. Gallery opening hours are 10-6 excluding Fridays that will be 10-9.
Responsibilities:
- To provide food/service to a consistent high standard.
- To manage the kitchen brigade in the absence of the Executive/Head chef.
- To assist in training junior staff.
- To liaise with key people in the team to plan for the provision of food in all areas.
- To place orders directly with suppliers.
- To ensure smooth running of daily operations which include ensuring no disruption to the pre-agreed menu offer.
- Responsible for managing stock levels of that specific area including ordering when required as well as waste control.
- Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
- To adhere to Health and Safety practices as per Searcys requirements.
- Be driven by people and delivering the highest quality of food.
- Exemplary kitchen management practices and being an ambassador for Searcys legacy brand.
- Innovative and inspiring culinary ideas for events and restaurant menus.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef in hotels or high-end restaurants.
- Excellent mentoring and communication skills.
- Able to demonstrate your analytical approach to problem-solving and excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices.
