Searcys are looking for a Sales and Events Manager to join the team at the National Portrait Gallery. As a Sales and Events Manager for Searcys you will lead the sales team to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. Working closely with the General Manager to develop and implement successful sales and marketing strategies to encourage business and reputational growth.

Job Description:

To drive sales and marketing activity to achieve the annual budget. To account manage clients and co-ordinate their events effectively to ensure they are successful and to foster repeat business. You will possess excellent product knowledge, strong business acumen and lead your team by example. You will have a proven track record within the industry and have experience running and leading a strong sales team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To develop and maintain relationships with existing clients
  • To proactively identify new opportunities
  • To manage and maintain a clean database
  • To take incoming enquiries in accordance with Searcy standards and procedures
  • To provide weekly sales update along with update financial reporting
  • To update website and social media when required
  • To manage the event diary in line with Searcys operating procedures
  • To prepare proposals for new enquiries and any additional administration including pre-event payment collection
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback
  • To fully coordinate the event up to the day of arrival or until required including up till the end of the event
  • To produce clear and concise function sheets in accordance with company standards and procedures
  • To provide a clear and concise handover to the operations team
  • To communicate clearly with the kitchen team with regards to menus
  • To organise and host menu tastings and up-sell where possible
  • To conduct show rounds and proactively convert
  • To organise and host promotional events

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, internally and externally with strong presentation skills
  • Is inspired to be a great leader and support, grow and nurture the team
  • Previous experience in driving sales into venues
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
  • Great team player
  • Proactive sales experience
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and superior presentation skills
  • Must possess strong organisational and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of computer systems (i.e., Microsoft Office) is essential
