We're hiring a Key Account Manager to own relationships with some of our most important customers as the business continues to grow. This is a fullâtime, hybrid role based out of Manchester, sitting in the Client Management team and reporting into the Key Account Lead.
As Key Account Manager, you'll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of key clients â running regular checkâins, reviewing performance, gathering feedback and making sure their needs are met. You'll work closely with growth, marketing, product and billing teams to resolve issues quickly, deliver a smooth onboarding experience and ensure dayâtoâday service runs well.
A big part of the role is commercial: driving retention and account growth by building strong, longâterm relationships, spotting upsell and crossâsell opportunities, and using client and market data to identify where you can add more value. You'll also prepare and present clear reports on client activity, satisfaction and business impact for senior stakeholders.
There is a light leadership element too â you'll support and mentor junior client managers, help shape client management processes, and promote a clientâcentric, collaborative way of working across the team.
What you'll be doing:
- Acting as primary point of contact for key clients, managing dayâtoâday queries and regular review meetings.
- Building strong, longâterm relationships to drive loyalty, retention and growth.
- Working with growth, marketing, product and billing to deliver joinedâup, tailored solutions.
- Monitoring client data and market trends to spot risks and opportunities.
- Preparing and presenting client reports (performance, satisfaction, commercial impact) to senior management.
- Supporting smooth onboarding and ongoing management of key accounts.
- Mentoring junior client managers and contributing to bestâpractice client management methods.
- Travelling locally/nationally as needed to meet and strengthen relationships with key clients.
What we're looking for:
- Experience in key account management, client management, billing or similar, ideally in energy, technology or sustainability.
- Track record of managing highâvalue client relationships and contributing to revenue growth.
- Strong relationshipâbuilding and communication skills, comfortable with senior stakeholders.
- Clientâfirst mindset, with the ability to align client needs with business goals.
- Confident handling negotiations, resolving issues and managing conflict when needed.
- Organised, detailâfocused and able to juggle multiple accounts in a fastâpaced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or similar is preferred, but relevant experience is equally important.
