Our client is a rapidly growing specialist lender, and they\’re looking for a Lead Developer to guide them through an exciting period of growth as they expand their product offering and modernise their technical environment.
It\’s an outstanding opportunity for someone to guide the technical direction of the business – from choosing the technology stack, to working with cross-functional teams to drive innovation within software development.
The role:
• Guide the technical direction of business and specific projects
• Analyse product requirements and collaborate cross-functionally ensuring the successful execution of software projects, meeting expectations and driving innovation in software development.
• Specify, select and integrate best-in-class SaaS platforms to meet product requirements across the Group.
• Guide the selection of technology components such as programming languages, databases, etc.
• Oversee external software suppliers to ensure the quality and efficiency of the work
• Identify, recruit and mentor internal developers
Key skills, experience and attributes
• A developer with specialized technical skills, who has taken on responsibilities beyond typical coding tasks.
• Full-stack software development or system architecture experience with hands-on, delivery-focused attitude.
• Understanding of fintech, particularly in lending.
• Experience with API-first design and integration of RegTech tools.
• Security-first mindset and GDPR/FCA technology compliance.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
• A passion for innovation and technology trends, understanding how leading-edge technologies and data can drive organisation objectives while supporting the employee/ colleague experience.
• Consulting acumen demonstrated by excellent communication, facilitation and data analysis skills to influence
