Working Pattern: Monday – Friday | 5 days onsite

Hands-On IT Support. Broader Technical Exposure. Real Responsibility.

We have partnered with an established UK business that is looking for a Group IT Support Technician to join its internal IT team.

This is a hands-on role supporting colleagues across the business while also getting involved in the wider IT environment.

You'll be responsible for resolving day-to-day technical issues, supporting users and devices, and helping maintain the systems and technology the business relies on.

Alongside user support, you will work on Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, infrastructure, cloud, security, system maintenance and IT projects.

It's an opportunity for an IT Support professional who wants to build on their existing experience and develop across a broader range of technology.

What You'll Do

  • Provide day-to-day IT support for hardware, software and technical issues.
  • Log, manage, update and resolve support requests through the IT Service Desk.
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide practical solutions to users across the business.
  • Set up, configure and maintain laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration and user requirements.
  • Assist with Active Directory administration, including user accounts and access.
  • Support basic network troubleshooting and IT infrastructure activities.
  • Assist with system updates, maintenance and backups.
  • Support IT upgrades, installations and system migrations.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset and user records.
  • Assist with the management and tracking of IT equipment.
  • Work with external suppliers and third parties when required.
  • Support wider IT projects and technical activities.
  • Follow company processes relating to IT security, data protection and information security.
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when supporting colleagues.

What Client is Looking For

  • Previous experience in an IT Support, IT Technician, Service Desk or similar technical support role.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware, software and general IT issues.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Experience or understanding of Active Directory and user administration.
  • Understanding of basic networking and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting Windows-based devices and desktop environments.
  • Experience setting up and configuring laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Good organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently while contributing to a wider IT team.
  • Positive, reliable and proactive approach.
  • Full right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship.

Technical Experience

You'll ideally have experience or exposure across some of the following: You don't need to be an expert across every technology listed.

Microsoft 365 | Active Directory | Windows | Hardware | Service Desk | Networking | IT Infrastructure | Cloud | IT Security | User Administration

We're looking for someone with a solid IT support foundation, who is comfortable troubleshooting issues and keen to continue developing their technical knowledge.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to work within an internal Group IT environment rather than a narrow support function. You'll support users and technology across the organisation while also getting involved in areas such as:

  • Hardware and software installations
  • System migrations
  • Infrastructure support
  • Microsoft 365
  • User administration
  • Networking
  • IT security
  • System maintenance

This gives you the opportunity to develop your experience across different areas of IT and take on broader technical responsibilities as your knowledge grows.

What's in It for You?

  • Join an established internal Group IT team.
  • Broad exposure across IT support and technology
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
  • Exposure to networking, infrastructure, cloud and security
  • Opportunity to contribute to IT upgrades, installations and migrations.
  • Work closely with users and wider business stakeholders
  • Develop your technical knowledge across a broad IT environment
  • Β£28,000 – Β£32,000 salary depending on experience + benefits

If you're currently working in IT Support, Service Desk, IT Technician, Desktop Support or a similar role and want broader exposure across internal IT, this could be a strong next step.

The role could be based at either Nottinghamshire or Wiltshire site.

The position is fully onsite, Monday to Friday.

If you're an IT Support professional looking for a role where you can combine user support with broader exposure to Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, infrastructure and IT projects, I would be keen to speak with you.
