We’re seeking a Technical Design Auditor to provide independent assurance on completed utility installation works, ensuring they meet design, safety, and commercial requirements prior to close-out. This is a key role focused on reviewing completed works, validating evidence, and confidently challenging both technical and commercial submissions to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit completed installations against approved designs and as-built records
- Review technical documentation, CAD drawings, and site evidence
- Assess photographic/video evidence for quality and compliance
- Identify defects, design deviations, and evidence gaps
- Validate cost submissions and challenge discrepancies or overclaims
- Provide clear, evidence-based feedback and track issues through to resolution
About You:
- Experience in technical audit, quality assurance, or design/compliance within utilities or infrastructure
- Strong understanding of metering installations, including SMETS1 and SMETS2
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation
- Commercial awareness with experience reviewing costs, claims, or variations
- Highly detail-oriented with strong judgement and confidence to challenge
Desirable:
- Experience in smart metering, MDU environments, or complex installations
- Familiarity with audit/evidence platforms and strong Excel capability
