About Searchland
Searchland is a high-growth, B2B PropTech company transforming how businesses and individuals access and leverage property data. Our platform empowers property developers, land agents, architects, and planners with real-time insights, helping them make smarter, data-driven decisions when acquiring and developing land.
We’re proud to be building a collaborative, supportive team in London and we’re committed to doing things differently by creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to thrive.
About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our lean and fast-moving team. This is a development-focused role where you’ll take ownership of bringing ideas to life - writing clean, reliable code and shipping high-quality features across the stack.
You’ll work on everything from building performant frontends to designing scalable backend APIs and managing database architecture. While product thinking is always welcome, your primary focus will be on turning technical requirements into production-ready solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across the platform
- Develop performant and accessible front-end components using React (Vite) + Tailwind CSS
- Build scalable and type-safe APIs with tRPC running on Node.js/Express
- Model and query relational and search-optimized data using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch
- Contribute to backend architecture, performance tuning, and refactoring work
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teammates to clarify requirements and break down work
- Own implementation from development through to deployment and monitoring
You Are:
You’re a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems through clean, pragmatic code. You’re comfortable wearing many hats and enjoy the variety and pace of startup life. You don’t wait for instruction - you look for opportunities to add value and move things forward.
You likely bring the following:
- A track record of shipping and supporting features end-to-end, ideally within lean or startup environments
- Confidence working across the full stack and willingness to dive into new areas when needed
- Clear communication and the ability to work autonomously
- Experience working in a small team or solo engineering setup
Essential Experience
- Right to work in the UK
- 5+ years experience leading software development for a SaaS platform
- Proven experience with our stack (or strong adjacent experience and the ability to ramp up quickly):
- Frontend: React (Vite), Tailwind
- Backend: Node.js, Express, tRPC
- Database: PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch
Desired Experience
- Previous experience in PropTech and/or start-up environments
- Understanding of the UK property/construction market would be a huge plus.
Interview Process
- An introductory call with our HR team.
- A technical task stage before a 1 hour interview with one of our Senior Software Engineers.
- Final stage interview with our Chief Product Officer
Why Join Us?
- Hybrid working: 2 days a week in our Old Street office
- Compensation: Competitive salary, salary sacrifice pension scheme, EMI Scheme
- Time off & wellbeing: 25 days holiday + bank holidays, birthday off, Christmas shutdown, HealthShield cash plan including dental
- Growth & development: mentoring, clear progression paths, £500 annual personal growth fund
- Tools & perks: MacBook and a home office contribution
- Culture: monthly socials, team lunches, bake-offs, 3 Peaks challenge, and company trips abroad when targets are hit

We welcome applications from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic.
