We are Searchflex, a high-performance ecommerce search agency. We don’t do generic SEO. We build full ecom search systems (CheckoutOS) for D2C brands doing £50k–£10M/month, focused on profit, clarity, and control. We’re expanding – and we’re hiring someone smart, reliable, and technical to take ownership of Technical SEO execution.
Role Overview
You’ll work closely with the director to help implement our SEO audits and performance roadmap across multiple WordPress and Shopify-based ecommerce brands. You’ll follow the strategy we co-develop – and own the execution across tech SEO, structured data, site speed, and CRO fixes. This is not a content writing or basic blog SEO job. You’ll be leading technical SEO delivery – fixing indexation issues, optimising crawl paths, running A/B tests, and improving real site performance.
Responsibilities
- Technical Audits – Crawl execution, issue prioritisation, client-ready timeline documentation
- Structured Data – Implement and maintain schema across products, collections, articles
- Site Speed – Core Web Vitals, theme optimisations, render-blocking assets
- Sitemaps – Fix 4xx/3xx URLs in XML, manage crawl coverage
- Robots.txt – Syntax and logic fixes, clean up disallowed assets
- International SEO – Hreflang, X-default, language redirects, canonical issues
- Indexation & Crawl Cleanups – Internal 404s, redirect chains, duplicate content
- A/B Testing Prep – Assist with test setup + CRO-focused implementation
- HTML/CSS/Theme-Liquid – Light theme edits (Shopify), debugging layout/UX issues
- Documentation – Keeping audit deliverables clean, clear, and client-ready
Must-Have Experience
- 3+ years in technical SEO for ecommerce or agency-side
- Experience working on enterprise level international stores
- Ability to manage end-to-end ecommerce SEO strategy
- Advanced understanding of WordPress, Shopify, Search Console, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs and GA4
- Can implement structured data directly
- Experience with hreflang and international SEO
- Able to debug issues across JS, Liquid, or HTML
- Understands Core Web Vitals and page performance basics
- Comfortable doing client-quality work without being micromanaged
Bonus Points For
- CRO & Testing Experience – A/B test planning and conversion audits that led to measurable uplift
- Python or Scripting Skills – Used for SEO automation, data cleanup, or workflow streamlining
- AI & Automation Tools – Leveraged ChatGPT, GPT APIs, or other tools to speed up content briefs, audits, or QA
- Multi-Region SEO Experience – Hands-on with Shopify Markets, hreflang logic, and geo-specific URL structures
- Front-End Dev Capabilities – Able to diagnose and fix layout bugs, page speed issues, and theme-level UX blockers
- Systems Thinker – Built SOPs or process documentation to scale execution across teams or clients
- Google Shopping Experience – Managed Merchant Center feeds and optimised paid Shopping ads for ecommerce performance
