What will the Field Service Engineer be Doing?
- Working in a team of four, you’ll provide technical support, work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver reliable service and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- The role requires strong IT infrastructure knowledge and familiarity with working with Defence customers and in secure environments.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on‑site maintenance, repairs, updates, testing support and customer training
- Provide remote 1st/2nd line technical support
- Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rota with emergency site attendance
- Install, configure and maintain servers, networks, firewalls and virtualised systems
- Perform fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and component‑level repairs
- Produce technical reports, RMAs and certification documentation
Qualifications
- Active SC or MoD DV Clearance (UK Eyes Only)
- Willingness to work on site in Woking or London when required – hybrid when possible
- Full driving license
Required Experience
- MoD background/experience supporting classified military systems and infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of secure networks, systems and cryptographic equipment (LAN/WAN/VLAN, firewalls, Windows/Linux, virtualisation)
- Supporting live military environments, exercises, demonstrations and in‑service equipment
- Understanding of hardware lifecycle management, upgrades and capacity planning
- Experience supporting high‑value, low‑volume systems in regulated environments
- Awareness of ITIL service management principles
