A hybrid role based in London, where you will build real-time, data-rich web applications for the sports industry. The stack is flexible, as long as you are comfortable with Python, FastAPI, and React.

We are supporting a fast-growing company building cutting-edge AI solutions for the sports industry. This environment allows engineers to have genuine ownership and a direct impact on product direction and technical architecture from day one. If you love building across the whole stack and want to be a builder rather than a cog in a machine, this is for you.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own the full product lifecycle, from building intuitive, performant web interfaces in Next.js and React to designing robust Python back ends that handle real-time, data-rich workloads. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role in a small team, where you run and deploy your own work and have a direct line to product decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build intuitive, performant web interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Design and maintain sophisticated APIs using Python and FastAPI.
  • Work with real-time data streaming, including SSE and WebSockets.
  • Translate complex sports data and logic into clean, efficient code.
  • Own the front end lifecycle independently, from development to deployment.
  • Collaborate with a small, high-calibre team to iterate quickly on new features.
Essential Experience:
  • Strong full stack experience across modern web development (stack is flexible if you are happy working with Python, FastAPI, and React).
  • Solid front end skills with React and Next.js, plus Python back end experience.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS.
  • A good understanding of asynchronous programming and real-time data.
  • Strong system design skills, able to solve complex problems from first principles.
  • Comfortable with the autonomy and pace of a small team, happy owning your own deployments.
  • A genuine sports fan who understands the game and the data behind it is ideal.
  • Right to work in the UK; no sponsorship is available for this role.
What's on Offer:
  • Salary up to £100,000 depending on experience.
  • The chance to build real-time AI products in the sports industry you love.
  • Full ownership across the stack and real influence over product direction.
  • Work at the cutting edge of how AI and LLMs are changing sport.
  • A fast-paced, evolving environment where no two weeks are the same.

How to prepare for a job interview at Searchability

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Searchability uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects

Bring along a portfolio that highlights our best work. This could be code samples, GitHub repositories, or any side projects we’ve built. Make sure we can talk through our thought process for each project, especially the challenges we faced and how we solved them—this shows our problem-solving skills in action.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

While technical skills are key, full-time positions also require cultural fit. Be ready to discuss our previous experiences and how we handle teamwork, conflict, and deadlines. Brush up on the STAR method—Situation, Task, Action, Result—to clearly articulate our past experiences when discussing how we've contributed to a team.
