Salary Ranges:
- Infrastructure Specialist: £45,000 – £55,000
- Senior Infrastructure Specialist: £55,000 – £65,000
- Lead Infrastructure Specialist: £65,000 – £75,000
WHO WE ARE
We are working with a high-profile consultancy, supporting mission-critical infrastructure across a range of national clients within industries such as transportation, defence, energy, and financial services. Due to ongoing expansion, we are hiring Linux Infrastructure Specialists at multiple levels to join their dynamic, high-performance team.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
You’ll support and evolve core infrastructure platforms in both traditional and cloud-based environments. From hands-on server work to scripting and automation, you’ll help design, build, configure, and maintain secure and resilient systems.
Typical responsibilities will include:
- Supporting and managing RedHat Linux systems (v6 andamp; v7)
- Automating via Shell scripting in Linux/UNIX environments
- Working with AWS services such as EC2, S3, and CloudWatch
- Managing infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes and Terraform
- Administering storage (LVM, RAID) and working with Dell server hardware (BIOS, iDRACs, cabling)
WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
To be successful, you should have:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RedHat preferred)
- Shell scripting skills (e.g., Bash, KornShell)
- Knowledge of AWS cloud environments
- Familiarity with containerisation (Kubernetes) and IaC tools (Terraform)
- Experience with server storage and volume management (RAID, LVM)
- Exposure to hardware/infrastructure (especially Dell)
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience automating OS and middleware builds and patching
- Familiarity with complex middleware components
- Strong documentation and written communication skills
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
