Our client is a well-established UK-based technology solutions provider, delivering infrastructure, networking, and security projects across both education and commercial sectors. With a reputation for technical excellence and first-class service, they provide end-to-end IT solutions — from consultancy and design through to installation, configuration, and ongoing support.
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality IT infrastructure projects. You’ll design, install, and configure server, storage, and network environments, provide technical pre-sales input, and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues. This is a hands-on role that combines technical consultancy, project delivery, and 3rd line support.
What will you need?
- Proven experience deploying and supporting servers, storage, and LAN/WLAN networks
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Experience with backup and recovery systems in virtualised environments (e.g. Veeam)
- Skilled in firewall and web filter configuration and network authentication (e.g. Radius)
- Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and design proposals
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical, customer-focused approach
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally
What would be desirable?
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
- Knowledge of HPE server/storage, Aruba networking, and Smoothwall appliances
- Understanding of SD-WAN technologies and cloud-integrated solutions
- Previous experience in technical pre-sales or consultancy
