They are seeking a Software Engineer to join a collaborative Agile Scrum team developing next-generation Geospatial software solutions using modern cloud-based technologies. THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE

As a Software Engineer, you will join an Agile Scrum team responsible for developing robust, scalable, and maintainable cloud-based software solutions. You will contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement. You will be responsible for developing high-quality Java applications, implementing reusable design patterns, contributing to automated testing frameworks, and ensuring software solutions meet security, scalability, and maintainability standards. Working closely with fellow engineers, architects, and product teams, you will participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and estimation activities while helping to drive continuous improvement and engineering best practice across the team. You will also contribute to code reviews, documentation, knowledge sharing, and quality assurance activities to ensure successful delivery of sprint commitments and project objectives.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java
  • Experience developing cloud-based services and applications
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices
  • Experience writing unit and automated tests
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum environments
  • Experience participating in code reviews and design reviews
  • Strong understanding of scalable and maintainable software design principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience working within collaborative engineering teams

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • DevSecOps awareness and experience with tools such as Tekton, ArgoCD, and SonarQube
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of the Quarkus Framework
  • Front-end development experience using Angular
  • Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments
  • Geospatial software experience advantageous
