Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Automation Tester to join a growing team delivering secure, mission‑critical systems within a highly regulated environment.
This role is ideal for a testing professional who enjoys building robust automation frameworks, improving software quality, and working closely with development teams to deliver reliable solutions. You'll play a key role throughout the software development lifecycle, helping to ensure applications meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and test suites
- Create and execute automated test scripts across multiple environments
- Work closely with developers, business analysts and stakeholders to define testing requirements
- Identify, record and track software defects through to resolution
- Support the integration of automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Perform functional, integration, regression and system testing activities
- Contribute to test strategy development and quality assurance best practices
- Produce clear test documentation, reports and evidence where required
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across testing and delivery teams
- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborative engineering activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience in Automation Testing or Software Test Engineering
- Active SC Clearance
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or similar
- Experience testing APIs and backend services
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery processes
- Experience working within Agile environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Desirable Skills
- Experience within Defence, National Security, Government or other secure environments
- Knowledge of Java, Python, JavaScript or C#
- Experience with performance or non‑functional testing
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with container technologies including Docker
- Understanding of security testing principles
- Experience working on large‑scale enterprise systems
