NEW CONTRACT ROLE - Front Office Senior Java Developer - Rates Pricing
London-Based Candidates Only | 6-Month Contract (with potential for extension or perm) | Up to £900/day Inside IR35| Hybrid (2-3 Days On-Site)
THE OPPORTUNITYWe are working on behalf of a banking client to find a highly experienced Front Office Senior Java Developer to join their Rates Pricing team on the trading floor. This is a niche, high-impact role for a strong Java engineer with low-latency trading systems experience and a deep understanding of front office environments, particularly in pricing, booking, and analytics for Rates, Credit, FX, and Equities.
You will be working directly with the trading desk to enhance pricing and trade capture platforms, requiring both technical excellence and the ability to work in high-pressure, fast-moving environments.
THE ROLECollaborate daily with traders and sales teams to improve pricing workflows and trade execution.
Build, enhance, and maintain front-office pricing and trade booking platforms.
Deliver low-latency, high-performance microservices in Java.
Evaluate and implement dynamic workflows for pricing and trade lifecycle management.
Work on complex quantitative and analytics problems in real-time systems.
Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable, resilient systems.
Expert-level Java (core + multi-threading).
Proven ability to work with or cross-train into C++ / C# (dual-enabled is ideal).
Strong exposure to front office environments - you must have worked directly on a trading floor.
In-depth pricing experience in Rates / FX / Credit / Equities.
Experience working closely with traders on pricing and booking systems.
Strong knowledge of low-latency systems and real-time processing.
Familiarity with messaging platforms, especially 29 West (Ultra Messaging).
Microservices architecture, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs.
Experience with data analytics and pricing models.
Exposure to multi-asset products like interest rate swaps, bonds, and futures.
