We’re seeking a Software Engineer to support and enhance critical systems within a dynamic, high-performing team. You’ll work across development and DevOps activities, supporting complex environments that underpin key national capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver DevOps development and support capabilities as part of an agile delivery team.
- Participate in the development of new systems, transitioning them into ongoing support and enhancement.
- Support the transition of externally developed systems into internal ownership for maintenance and improvement.
- Contribute to second and third line support for a portfolio of client systems.
- Take part in a 24/7 on-call rota supporting critical national systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of Java programming.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of DevOps principles and agile delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Confident client-facing communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience with Apache NiFi and Node.js.
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, XSD, and XSLT.
- Knowledge of Jenkins, Maven, BitBucket, and Jira.
- Exposure to AWS and cloud technologies.
- Experience working within agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
