My client is looking for an experienced SEO Specialist to join their growing digital agency team in Birmingham. This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of SEO performance across a portfolio of clients, driving strategy, execution and measurable results. You’ll be responsible for delivering organic growth through technical SEO, content optimisation and data-led decision-making, while working closely with clients and supporting junior team members. This role suits someone confident working autonomously, but who enjoys collaborating within a wider marketing function.
SEO SPECIALIST ROLE:- Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies aligned with client business objectives
- Own SEO performance across multiple client accounts
- Conduct in-depth technical SEO audits, keyword research and competitor analysis
- Oversee technical SEO including site architecture, crawlability, indexing and performance
- Optimise on-page content, landing pages and metadata to improve visibility and rankings
- Build and maintain high-quality backlink profiles through outreach and link acquisition
- Track, analyse and report on SEO performance using GA4, Looker Studio and Search Console
- Work with tagging, tracking, log file analysis and data sources including BigQuery
- Produce clear reports with actionable insights and recommendations
- Participate in and lead client meetings, presenting strategy, performance and next steps
- Collaborate closely with content and marketing teams to deliver cohesive campaigns
- Stay up to date with SEO trends, algorithm updates and best practice
- Support and mentor junior SEO team members
- Contribute to improving internal SEO processes and methodologies
- 2+ years’ experience in a Senior SEO or SEO Specialist role
- Agency experience managing multiple client accounts
- Strong technical SEO knowledge (site architecture, PageRank, crawlability, indexing)
- Confident using tools such as GA4, Google Tag Manager, Looker Studio and Google Search Console
- Experience with SEO tools including Ahrefs and technical audit platforms
- WordPress proficiency
- Proven track record of delivering successful SEO strategies with measurable results
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with client-facing experience
- A genuine passion for digital marketing and continuous learning
- Creative skills and strong content insight
- Knowledge of UX and CRO best practices
- Experience working with e-commerce or marketplace websites
- Exposure to data analysis tools such as SQL or Python
- Hybrid working (3 days in Birmingham office, 2 days remote)
