Lead Developer

• £50-65k depending on the candidate
• Hybrid role – 2-3 days per week in Nottingham
• PHP / Laravel / React
• Client liaison responsibilities

We’re a creative technology studio with a passion for building beautifully engineered digital products. We’re now looking for a Lead Developer — someone who can write exceptional code while setting the technical direction and supporting our talented development team day to day.

You’ll act as the technical lead on projects, collaborating with designers, account managers and clients to ensure smooth delivery from first commit to launch. You’ll bring clarity to technical decisions, help the team grow, and play a key role in shaping our technical direction as we scale.

Lead Developer Responsibilities:

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across multiple web projects
• Guide and support developers, ensuring high coding standards and smooth delivery
• Collaborate with account managers and clients as the technical lead on projects
• Contribute to solution architecture and system design decisions
• Stay current with emerging technologies and champion smarter ways of working

Requirements:

• 5+ years of full-stack development experience
• Proficient in React, Next.js, Tailwind, Node.js, PHP, MySQL
• Experience with CMS/eCommerce platforms (WordPress, Craft, Magento, Shopify, Sanity)
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing ability
• Confident managing multiple projects and technical priorities
