ABOUT THE CLIENT
We’re supporting a growing, technology-focused organisation that is continuing to invest heavily in modern engineering practices and platform reliability. With a collaborative and highly technical team environment, they are looking to strengthen their automation capability through a hands-on engineering hire focused on quality, scalability, and long-term platform stability.
THE AUTOMATION ENGINEER ROLE:
You’ll play a key role in designing and developing a robust automation framework from scratch across a complex distributed platform made up of multiple services and integrations. This role is heavily focused on backend and API automation, validating end-to-end workflows, service communication, and data integrity across multiple environments. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and technical stakeholders to ensure platform reliability, scalability, and release confidence. You’ll also contribute toward CI/CD integration, cross-service debugging, environment validation, and continuous improvements across the automation framework and testing processes. This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within modern cloud-native systems.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Strong experience with C# and .NET automation
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
- Strong API and HTTP testing experience
- Experience testing microservices or distributed systems
- Hands-on SQL Server querying and data validation skills
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Azure DevOps
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, or containerised environments
- Experience with NUnit, MSTest, RestSharp, or HttpClient
