As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality IT infrastructure projects. You’ll design, install, and configure server, storage, and network environments, provide technical pre-sales input, and act as an escalation point for complex technical issues. This is a hands-on role that combines technical consultancy, project delivery, and 3rd line support.
What will you need?
- Proven experience deploying and supporting servers, storage, and LAN/WLAN networks.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Experience with backup and recovery systems in virtualised environments (e.g., Veeam).
- Skilled in firewall and web filter configuration and network authentication (e.g., Radius).
- Ability to produce detailed technical documentation and design proposals.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical, customer-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationally.
What would be desirable?
- Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Knowledge of HPE server/storage, Aruba networking, and Smoothwall appliances.
- Understanding of SD-WAN technologies and cloud-integrated solutions.
- Previous experience in technical pre-sales or consultancy.
