We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a major enterprise data and AI transformation programme, working through a leading Managed Service Provider.
This is an initial 3-month contract with likely extensions, offering £750-£800 per day Inside IR35 and requiring 2 days per week on-site in Manchester or Leeds.
You'll be working within a complex, enterprise-scale environment, building the data pipelines and platforms that underpin AI/LLM and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Designing and building scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
Developing cloud-native data solutions within GCP
Engineering data platforms to support AI/LLM and RAG solutions
Building large-scale data ingestion, processing and enrichment capabilities
Developing event-driven architectures using Kafka
Building automation and data engineering solutions using Python and SQL
Supporting enterprise search, indexing and data retrieval capabilities
Ensuring data quality, governance, lineage and scalability
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Strong commercial GCP experience
Excellent Python and SQL skills
Strong Kafka / event-driven architecture experience
Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments
Exposure to AI/LLM and RAG solutions
Experience with BigQuery, vector databases, graph technologies or enterprise search would be beneficial
