Are you an experienced Workshop Manager with a strong background in HGV fleet maintenance?
We're recruiting for a hands-on leadership role overseeing the day-to-day operation of a busy fleet workshop based predominantly in Bishops Cleeve.
You'll lead a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor, ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant and available while maintaining high standards of productivity, documentation and workshop organisation.

What You'll
Doing
- Leading and supporting a team of HGV Technicians and a Workshop Supervisor
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the fleet workshop
- Creating a motivated, productive and high-performing team environment
- Taking ownership of the R2C fleet maintenance system
- Managing LOLER inspection processes and ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Ensuring vehicle documentation is completed and signed off correctly
- Maintaining compliance with company procedures and legal requirements
- Proactively managing vehicle availability and minimising fleet downtime
- Allocating labour and resources to improve workshop efficiency and output
- Ensuring the workshop remains safe, clean and well organised
- Monitoring workloads and ensuring maintenance activity is completed on time
- Supporting the Bristol depot when required
- Communicating technical information clearly to internal stakeholders
- Promoting safe systems of work across the workshop
What We Need From You
- Proven experience working in a workshop management or fleet maintenance leadership role
- Experience managing HGV Technicians, Supervisors or skilled maintenance teams
- A current HGV licence, with a minimum of Class 2 required
- City & Guilds HGV Parts 1, 2 and 3, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
- Strong hands-on technical knowledge of HGVs and commercial vehicles
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems
- A good understanding of tachograph systems
- Knowledge of vehicle compliance, Operator Licence requirements and legal documentation
- Experience using R2C or a similar fleet maintenance system
- Knowledge of LOLER inspection and compliance processes
- Strong planning, workload management and organisational skills
- A customer-focused approach with an understanding of commercial priorities
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to engage, influence and communicate with people at all levels
- A proactive approach to health, safety and workshop standards
- Flexibility to travel between Bishops Cleeve and Bristol as required
