What will the Senior VCF Engineer be doing?
You will act as the technical engineering lead for deploying and operating a high‐assurance VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.x private cloud, extending our clients' existing private cloud patterns.
Key Responsibilities:
- VCF 9.x orchestration: Lead deployment of Management and Workload Domains using SDDC Manager, VCF Operations, and Cloud Builder.
- NSX networking & security: Design advanced virtual networking, including Tier‐0/Tier‐1 routing, load balancing, and DFW micro‐segmentation.
- Configure and optimise VCF Operations for monitoring, logging, and automation.
- Integrate NetApp ONTAP for performance and resilience.
- Manage patching and upgrades across ESXi, vCenter, NSX, and Aria to maintain continuous compliance.
- Secure authentication across all management planes in a high‐assurance environment.
The Senior VCF Engineer Should Have...
- Active security clearance at MoD DV level – due to the nature of the client and role, we can only consider candidates who hold a British passport.
- Be willing to work full‐time on client site in Somerset.
- Expert knowledge of VMware VCF (v8.x/9.x), including SDDC Manager and multi‐site/multi‐cluster designs.
- Strong NSX expertise, focused on secure networking and overlay‐underlay integration.
- Proficient in Aria Operations, Aria Operations for Logs, and Aria Automation.
- Experience working in UK high‐security environments (MOD, government, or critical national infrastructure).
