What will the Infrastructure Engineer be doing?
You will establish the foundational layer of a secure, highâassurance private cloud, aligned with our client's private cloud principles and design patterns. This role focuses on the physical and logical deployment and initial commissioning of the infrastructure that underpins a new cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and harden Cisco Nexus leaf/spine fabric to deliver highâthroughput, lowâlatency networking.
- Deploy and initialise NetApp storage arrays with enforced dataâatârest encryption.
- Build and secure HyperâV clusters to support core infrastructure services (AD, DNS, PKI).
- Support integration of a VMware VCF private cloud environment.
- Set up and manage HSM/KMS appliances, including participation in key ceremonies for highâassurance operations.
- Carry out secure rack, stack, and cabling activities in line with high physical security standards (e.g. SCIDA).
The Infrastructure Engineer Should Have...
- Active security clearance at MoD DV level â due to the nature of the client and role, we can only consider candidates who hold a British passport.
- Be willing to work fullâtime on client site in Somerset.
- Handsâon experience with Cisco Nexus (or equivalent) and NetApp ONTAP (or equivalent).
- Proven experience deploying HyperâV in highly available, secure environments.
- Working knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 5+).
- Familiarity with hardware security modules (HSM) and key management systems (KMS).
- Experience with Windows Server 2022/2025.
