ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client delivers complex digital and transformation programmes within the Public Sector, helping organisations understand their users and improve the services they provide. Their teams work collaboratively across research, design, technology and delivery to solve complex problems and create better user experiences. Due to continued demand for their services, they are looking for an experienced User Researcher to join the team.

THE USER RESEARCHER ROLE:

As a User Researcher, you will plan and conduct qualitative and/or quantitative research to understand user needs, behaviours and experiences. You’ll select and apply appropriate research methods, analyse data and communicate clear, actionable insights to inform service and product decisions. You’ll design and facilitate usability testing, recruit and engage diverse participant groups, and champion accessibility and inclusive research practices. Working within agile and iterative delivery environments, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure research findings directly influence the development and continuous improvement of services.

USER RESEARCHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proven experience planning and conducting qualitative and/or quantitative user research.
  • Strong knowledge of a range of user research methods and when to apply them.
  • Experience analysing research data and communicating clear insights.
  • Experience designing and conducting usability testing.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive research practices.
  • Experience working within agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Ability to recruit and engage diverse participant groups.
  • Familiarity with research tools, recording methods and insight reporting.
  • Experience around vulnerable users, remediation services, identity or trust would be advantageous.
