ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is a globally recognised aerospace engineering organisation delivering some of the world’s most advanced aircraft programmes. Their Materials and Processes teams support innovation across the full aircraft lifecycle, from research and development through to in-service support. Due to continued programme demand, they are now looking for an experienced Surface Technology Specialist to support the development and qualification of advanced corrosion protection and surface treatment technologies.
THE SURFACE TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST ROLE:
As a Surface Technology Specialist, you will support the development, qualification, and deployment of advanced surface technologies used for corrosion protection, tribology, coatings, and sealing applications across aircraft programmes. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to develop robust and sustainable materials and processes, supporting both current and future aircraft programmes. This role will also involve corrosion analysis, supporting REACH and environmental initiatives, and contributing to the transition toward chromate-free technologies.
SURFACE TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar discipline
- Experience in corrosion protection and surface technologies within aerospace or highly regulated industries
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, coatings, surface treatments, and sealants
- Understanding of metallic and composite materials
- Experience supporting manufacturing and engineering processes
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively within international and multi-functional teams
- Negotiation-level English communication skills
