ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is a global leader in aerospace and defence innovation, delivering complex space-based systems used for both civil and military missions. Their Stevenage site is a hub for satellite development and system testing. Due to continued project demand, we are seeking a Satellite AIT Electrical Systems Engineer to support ongoing satellite testing campaigns.
THE SATELLITE AIT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER ROLE:
- Prepare, debug, and execute complex spacecraft test sequences during ambient and environmental campaigns
- Interpret test specifications and develop automated test procedures using Open Center (Elisa/Java-based)
- Support real-time anomaly resolution and provide first-line technical assistance during test operations
- Work with spacecraft systems (e.g., data handling, AOCS, power systems, comms, FDIR)
- Participate in non-conformance reviews and contribute to test reports and documentation
SATELLITE AIT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Hands-on experience writing test scripts for satellite systems using Central Checkout Systems (Elisa, Java preferred)
- Strong understanding of spacecraft systems: TMTC, MIL-1553, SpaceWire, AOCS, FDIR, power/battery systems
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix scripting (bash) and test tools (DMM, scopes, data probes)
- Experience with environmental test campaigns (TVAC, EMC, Magnetic)
- SC Clearance required
