ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a specialist engineering and technology business delivering solutions to some of the UK’s most high-profile projects. They are seeking a talented Software Developer to join their Hinkley Point C team, focusing on SCC (Source Code Comparison) toolset development for Intel and ARM environments, along with automation tool creation.

THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ROLE:

• Develop and enhance SCC toolsets for Intel and ARM platforms
• Create and maintain automation tools to support project delivery
• Work across the full software development lifecycle (requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation)
• Participate in formal software peer reviews and verification processes
• Produce and review requirements, design documents, and test artefacts
• Use Visual Studio and multiple programming languages to deliver solutions in Windows and/or Linux environments

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• 2:1 or 1st in Computer Science, Maths, or mathematically-oriented Engineering/Science degree
• Experience in software development on Windows and/or Linux
• Skilled in one or more: C, C#, Ada, Assembler (note: Java, Matlab not relevant for this role)
• Experience with Visual Studio
• Strong understanding of the full SDLC
• Experience producing and reviewing formal documentation and test plans
• Active SC clearance (essential)
