We’re working with a leading technology consultancy delivering secure, large-scale digital platforms across public sector and enterprise programmes. They’re looking for an experienced AWS API & Integration Engineer to help design and deliver modern, scalable API-led architectures.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building secure, cloud-native APIs and microservices on AWS, working across complex distributed systems in highly regulated environments.
What you’ll be doing:
- Designing and building RESTful APIs using AWS Lambda & API Gateway
- Developing microservices and integration solutions using Python
- Defining API standards, integration patterns, and service boundaries
- Building secure integrations using IAM, OAuth / token-based auth
- Supporting end-to-end delivery: design, build, deploy & production support
- Working across distributed systems and enterprise integrations
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and live service operations
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in API design, microservices, and system integration
- Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway)
- Strong Python backend or integration development skills
- Experience with secure API architecture (IAM, authentication/authorisation)
- CI/CD experience and production support exposure
- Background in enterprise or regulated environments (ideal)
Desirable skills:
- Kafka / event-driven architecture
- Apigee or MuleSoft
- PostgreSQL / document stores
- AWS certifications
- Observability tools (CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana)
Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must either hold an active SC Clearance or be eligible to obtain – British passport holder.
