ABOUT THE CLIENT:
Our client is a leading design and engineering consultancy with a national presence, delivering cutting-edge infrastructure and building projects across the UK and globally. This well-established business champions innovation and career development, and due to a surge in exciting new projects, they are looking to bring a Senior Communications Engineer into their Birmingham-based team.
THE DETAILS:
- Up to Β£45.50/hour (Inside IR35)
- Initial 6-month contract with potential extension
- Hybrid working model β minimum 2 days in-office
- Involvement in high-impact infrastructure and public sector projects
- Reimbursement of relevant travel/expenses
THE SENIOR COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER ROLE:
As a Senior Communications Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, management, and delivery of communications systems across sectors such as Defence, Infrastructure, and Government. You will lead technical packages, represent the discipline in client-facing settings, and ensure quality delivery alongside a collaborative team.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Proven experience designing BMS, VSS, ACS, IDS, PAVA, and structured cabling systems
- Good understanding of IP networking, systems design, and AV systems
- Skilled in working across RIBA/BSRIA design stages and managing deliverables
- Comfortable liaising with clients and leading technical conversations
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks (BIM environment)
- Experience with large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
- Security clearance to BPSS level (or ability to obtain)
