ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is an advanced engineering and technology organisation delivering innovative solutions across highly secure and complex defence programmes. Their multidisciplinary teams work on next-generation technologies that support critical national capability, combining engineering expertise with research-led innovation. Due to increased project demand, they are now looking for an experienced Mechanical CAD Engineer to support multiple ongoing mechanical design activities.

THE MECHANICAL CAD ENGINEER ROLE:

As a Mechanical CAD Engineer, you will support the delivery of multiple mechanical design tasks across defence-focused engineering programmes. You will develop and modify mechanical designs, support the production of 3D printed prototypes, and create detailed assembly drawings for manufacture using Creo and Windchill. You will collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineers, internal teams, and third-party suppliers to ensure designs are produced accurately and efficiently. This role also involves integrating third-party mechanical drawings and supporting prototype testing and production activities.

MECHANICAL CAD ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Previous Mechanical CAD experience within defence or highly regulated industries
  • Strong experience using Creo and Windchill
  • Experience producing mechanical design and assembly drawings
  • Experience supporting prototype development and production activities
  • Ability to work with third-party suppliers and manufacturers
  • Understanding of COTS mechanical components and drawing integration
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
