Our client is a leading UK national infrastructure organisation operating within a highly regulated and security-critical environment. They are seeking an experienced Interim Physical Security Advisor to support Corporate Security functions across the organisation, ensuring robust protective security measures are in place to safeguard people, assets, and operations.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a key advisory role within a high-profile security function, supporting national security obligations and contributing to the development and delivery of physical security strategy across a Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environment.
As Interim Physical Security Advisor, you will support the Corporate Security team by providing expert guidance, direction, and advice across all areas of the business, including partners and contractors. You will play a key role in developing and implementing security programmes designed to protect people, assets, and infrastructure while ensuring compliance with legislation, regulatory frameworks, and internal security policies.
You will be responsible for delivering protective security advice, both written and verbal, and supporting the design and implementation of physical security programmes including new builds, infrastructure projects, and equipment deployments. A key part of the role will involve producing Security Orders, conducting security risk management activities, and ensuring proportionate and effective security controls are embedded across the organisation.
You will also engage with government stakeholders, industry bodies, and law enforcement agencies, contributing to national counterterrorism and crime prevention strategies while representing the organisation in relevant forums and committees.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Strong experience in Physical Security within Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) environments
- Proven experience in Security Risk Management and Protective Security delivery
- Experience writing Security Orders and formal security documentation
- Experience providing security advice on new builds, infrastructure, and equipment projects
- Strong understanding of physical, personnel, and protective security principles
- Experience designing, developing, and implementing security programmes
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills at senior level
- Experience working with government departments, law enforcement, or security agencies
- Understanding of counterterrorism and crime prevention strategies
- Strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Experience managing or overseeing security compliance within regulated environments
- Ability to operate credibly across internal and external senior stakeholders
- Experience working with Government classified information (desirable)
- Security qualifications such as CPP, PSP, or equivalent (desirable)
