ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a world-class defence engineering organisation delivering complex programmes for the UK military. Their Ampthill site supports a growing number of engineering-led programmes across armoured vehicle systems and defence electronics. To support demand, they’re looking for an experienced Engineering Procurement Specialist with knowledge of mechanical and electronic component procurement in defence environments.

THE ENGINEERING PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST ROLE

As an Engineering Procurement Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the procurement of technically complex components – from mechanical assemblies to printed circuit boards (PCBs). You’ll work closely with engineering and programme teams to ensure timely supply chain coordination and accurate sourcing in line with the defence sector standards.

ENGINEERING PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proven Buying/Procurement experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Experience sourcing mechanical assemblies and/or PCBs
  • Familiarity with supply chain compliance in defence or regulated sectors
  • Highly organised with excellent stakeholder communication
  • UK-born and sole UK national only (due to clearance eligibility)
  • Able to start on BPSS and gain SC clearance
