Our client is a leading global defence organisation working at the forefront of innovation in military engineering. Their Bedfordshire-based site delivers mission-critical technology and high-integrity mechanical design for armoured vehicles and aerospace platforms. Due to demand on a major programme, they are now seeking multiple Mechanical Design Engineers to join their growing team.

THE MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ROLE

You’ll join a cross-functional team responsible for the concept, design, development and testing of mechanical components and assemblies for use in armoured vehicles and aerospace systems. Using Creo and Windchill, you will take responsibility for everything from concept creation through to design validation, documentation and prototyping.

MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Proven mechanical design experience in defence, aerospace or AFV (Armoured Fighting Vehicles)
  • Expert in CREO Parametric CAD
  • Experienced with Windchill PDM systems
  • Familiar with structural/kinematic calculations and mechanical tolerancing
  • Able to design for harsh or safety-critical environments
  • Understanding of materials, coatings, and manufacturing processes
  • Must be a sole UK citizen (due to security clearance requirements)
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance
