About the Client: Our client is a specialist engineering organisation supporting critical defence and national security programmes, delivering innovative technology and capability into secure environments. They are in the early stages of embedding a stronger continuous improvement culture and are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to drive performance improvement across existing products and production processes.

The Manufacturing Engineer Role:

As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will drive optimisation and performance improvement across key manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on quality issues, lead time, and productivity. You will lead problem-solving activity using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, support non-conformance investigations, and work closely with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable improvements.

Manufacturing Engineer Essential Skills:

  • Proven background delivering Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects within production environments
  • Strong experience using structured problem-solving tools such as RCA, 8D, DMAIC
  • Ability to identify improvement opportunities, build the business case, and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Experience supporting manufacturing in an electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test environment (PCB / PCBA exposure beneficial)
  • Confident working cross-functionally and driving change within a developing CI culture
  • Eligible and willing to progress through SC clearance
