6-month contract with high-impact responsibility during a major organisational transition.

£34.98 per hour, full-time on-site in Belfast, 36 hours/week.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is a major aerospace manufacturer undergoing a significant transformation following the acquisition of its Belfast site. You will join at a pivotal moment, playing a vital part in establishing the communications framework for a new company while ensuring alignment with wider UK communications standards. Due to the scale and visibility of this change, they are seeking an experienced Interim Communications Lead to support the transition and embed strong communication practices from day one.

THE INTERIM COMMUNICATIONS LEAD ROLE

As the Interim Communications Lead, you will play a central role in shaping and delivering communication strategies during the transition to the new organisation. You'll work closely with the project team, Airbus Communications, and Newco leadership to manage internal, external, community, and change communications.

You will be responsible for:

  • Establishing communication structures, tools, and channels for the new organisation.
  • Ensuring local Belfast requirements align with wider Airbus UK communications standards.
  • Creating and delivering key messaging throughout the transition period.
  • Supporting colleague onboarding through well-designed internal communication mechanisms.
  • Coordinating messaging with UK/global communications and public affairs teams.
  • Managing consistent communications with external stakeholders and media.

INTERIM COMMUNICATIONS LEAD – ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong, proven experience across internal, external, and community communications.
  • Experience supporting communications in M&A, transformation, or organisational change environments.
  • Good understanding of corporate structures, aerospace industry context, and Airbus operations in the UK.
  • Understanding of Northern Ireland's operating and community environment.
  • Ability to define and execute communications plans at pace.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across functions and leadership levels.
  • High-level writing, content creation, and messaging capability.
  • Experience in event planning and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of UK local media and community relations.
  • Solid understanding of internal communications channels and colleague engagement.
