Lead Infrastructure Engineer (DV Security Clearance)

Brand New Permanent Opportunity within an exciting National Security SME in Cheltenham for a Lead Infrastructure Engineer.

Base pay range

Up to £95k DoE – plus benefits and bonuses.

Location

Cheltenham – full time on site when required.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DV clearance (West) – active.
  • Full time on site in Cheltenham when required.

Technical Expertise

  • Oracle – expertise in Oracle (19c), web applications built with APEX (21–24) and ORDS (24), strong PL/SQL skills.
  • APEX – versatile lead engineer background, comfortable learning APEX on the job.
  • AWS – experience migrating applications and databases to AWS Oracle services.
  • APIs – understanding of APIs and service integration in corporate environments.
  • Infrastructure as a Service – experience with Red Hat (8/9) and Amazon Linux (2/2023) for building non-database infrastructure.
  • Version control – familiarity with Atlassian Bitbucket/JIRA and GitLab.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide 3rd line support for mission-critical applications.
  • Promote modern development practices and drive team improvements with Service Owner and CIO.
  • Mentor technical staff.
  • Advise client leads on multi-year migration plans from Oracle to AWS.
